I put the video below on my site to remind me why I need to get up every day and do something, anything, that makes the world a better place. It was sobering to watch this 60 Minutes segment with Steve Kroft. Melanie Sloan, Executive Director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, made a lasting impression. I don’t want her job.
It feels a little hopeless at times when you realize how much corruption and selfishness there is with people who are elected to serve the people. But not when you keep in mind that we have access to a power that is above and beyond the physical atoms that make up physical matter. I believe we are surrounded by an “intelligent universe” that responds to intentions. Science indicates that and my own experiences have given me all the proof I need.
We need to look inward and create intentions and stay focused on where we intend to go. Congress men and women have no clue what real power is. If ethical, spiritual people put their minds and hearts into creating change, it will happen. The real test is to not get pulled into the anger, fear and doubt that perpetuates the problem.
Watch the video and determine to be part of the solution, not the problem. Take a deep breath, think of something/someone you love and are grateful for, feel as much Love and gratitude in your heart as possible and then imagine the future as you would like it to be. End with mental thoughts and words of gratitude.
This practice can help change the future!
