Mental Coaching Tip – Work With Your Brain As If It Is A Child
Mental coaching is the process of coaxing your brain to see success instead of believing your life is as it appears now. You want to think about things and see them through a filter that shows the end result of what you desire, never considering any possibility but the one you are going after.
But that isn’t an easy thing to do for most people. If you are trying to see the end result while in a state of stress, associations are made that will become more difficult to break the more you try. It is counterproductive.
That is why choosing the best piece of the goal is important. You have to gradually increase your vision sometimes when the end result is too unbelievable to your subconscious mind. It may keep reflecting on painful experiences as a way of keeping you from further danger.
As Napoleon Hill said, “What you see and believe, you can achieve.” But some people take that to mean that you just think about something and then you can attract it. Be thankful that it isn’t that easy.
How many things did you think about today that you don’t want to attract into your life? How many times did you have a reaction of fear or a sense of lack when you thought about something related to your life?
Your brain is set to warn you of any chance of pain or danger and many of your thoughts have an element of pain attached to them if you are like the majority of people.
For success with goals, it takes much more than a thought if you are trying to create a change. It takes a belief and unfortunately, that is something most people don’t have a good understanding of. Your thoughts aren’t really your own.
Mental coaching is a huge part of reaching goals
Your brain can be thought of as if it is a child and it must be nurtured. You must work with your thoughts and beliefs to change the ones that aren’t conducive to success. You believe what you do because the beliefs of influential people were ingrained as fact when you were at a very impressionable age.
In your formative years, your brain cycles at more of a hypnotic state where information is easily absorbed. A child stays in the alpha brain wave state instead of the higher beta brain waves until about the age of 6 years old, according to cell biologist Bruce Lipton. But as we all can see, as we get older, we increasing spend more time in a state of stress when brainwaves are in the higher beta state. And trying to force-feed yourself information about your goals from that state just doesn’t help.
So mental coaching is needed to train your brain to see what you want it to see regarding your life while also working on feeling what life would actually be like if what you were seeing was actually your reality.
